So let me get this out of the way upfront, I am a stock market investing beginner.
I started my stock market investing journey back in 2018…. or well I guess that’s when I started again? I gave it a shot back in 2011 (I believe I bought JCPenney and Chase oh and I worked AT Chase…yeah…) and basically bought and sold the stocks a few weeks later and that was that haha.
I am very much still in the early stages of investing and crossing my fingers that I don’t completely mess this up 😂. Don’t get me wrong, I was still investing since the 2011 experiment but it was mainly through a company sponsored 401k with the money going to a target fund. It wasn’t until 2018 that I decided to really take stock market investing into my own hands and dabble in individual stock picking.
In this section I will attempt to be as transparent as possible with some of my beginner investments and learnings. I’ll be honest; I was terrified of investing. Regardless of how much I read about investing I still couldn’t get myself to pull the trigger. I had this belief that I was not nearly knowledgeable enough to begin investing on my own and that mentality persisted for a lot longer than I care to admit. I hope that sharing some of my experiences will shed some light on investing and will help make it less daunting.
